Justice for Mikey Powell Campaign
38-year-old
Michael Powell collapsed at a police station and later died in hospital after
being arrested at his family home in Birmingham. His death is the subject
of an investigation by Northamptonshire Police, supervised by the Independent
Police Complaints Commission. Six police officers have so far been suspended.
Factory worker Mr Powell, was detained on 7th September last year when relatives
called police to the home in the Lozells area of the city amid fears for his
mental health. It later emerged that Mr Powell was struck by a police patrol
car during his arrest.
No cause of death has yet been given. Read
