This public meeting is aimed at briefing MPs and Peers on the implications
of the new Bill, sixth piece of legislation on immigration and asylum since
1992. Included in the Bill are further drastic reductions in appeal rights,
including from unaccompanied minors once they reach 18, from family visit
and student visa refusals. The meeting will provide an overview of the measures
in the Bill as well as address some of the key questions facing those on the
receiving end of the existing measures and measures introduced outside of
the Bill such as the end of Indefinite Leave to Remain for refugees and bonds
for migrants workers.
