A national day of action to oppose cuts to free English classes for speakers of other languages is planned for Wednesday 19th September. UCU, the lecturers union has warned that government plans to restrict access to free English classes for migrants and asylum seekers, will exacerbate existing significant barriers to development of language and employment skills faced by migrants trying to integrate.
