Barking and Dagenham says no to racism and fascism

By Gulum Alamqir, Bromley College, South London

In May, the BNP made their biggest breakthrough ever in London, gaining 12 councillors in Barking and Dagenham. During the election the BNP spread racist myths about African communities to win support.

Local Black communities have recently formed the Barking and Dagenham Alliance Against Racism and Fascism to challenge the foothold the BNP have gained and drive the politics of hate out of their borough.

  • Regular protests will be held against the fascist councillors in Barking and Dagenham – for more details contact SAAR on contactsaar@hotmail.com
