Campaigners demand children are protected from fascism

Campaigners in Derby have expressed anger that a fascist BNP activist has been allowed to hold a position of influence and power over vulnerable young children.

Clive Jones works at the Derby City Pupil Referral Unit, despite the fact that he stood as an election candidate for the BNP this May. Unite Against Fascism, anti-racists and trade unions, are demanding that he be sacked. Campaigners hope to make it illegal for BNP members to work in schools.

Chris Keates, general secretary of the NASUWT, a teachers’ union, said that “those who subscribe to a racist and fascist agenda have no place in the teaching profession.”
